Started with a laundromat. Built around how we’d want our own laundry done.

Laundry Plus is Sean and Enrica Mallard, a son and mum who opened a laundromat on Lygon Street in Brunswick East and thought: we’ve got the machines, why not pick up and deliver too?

Today we wash, dry, and fold across 46 Melbourne suburbs, from regulars who book weekly to the British & Irish Lions on tour. Every load is processed at our Brunswick East facility by our local team.

Our story

How we got here

  1. 2021: a model picks Lygon Street

In 2021 Sean modelled where a new laundromat would do best in the inner north, and the data pointed to Lygon Street, Brunswick East: dense apartments full of renters without their own machines.

  2. Then the machines went to work off peak

It worked. The laundromat filled up, so Sean and Enrica put the machines to work off peak too, picking up laundry from nearby homes, washing and folding it properly, and bringing it back. The side experiment became the business.

  3. A better service, and a better way to book it

Most wash-and-fold operators don’t read care labels or separate loads, and ordering was clunky. So we built both: a service that reads every care label, separates colours and washes each load at the right temperature, and a platform that makes booking and tracking straightforward. Today that covers 46 suburbs, from one-off pickups to multi-year commercial contracts.

Why NDIS is personal for us

We’re NDIS carers ourselves. We manage our family member’s plan and know the system from the inside. The funding categories, the plan reviews, the gap between what participants need and what they can easily access.
