Laundry support for NDIS participants

We know the NDIS from the inside, as carers, not just as a provider. We pick up, wash, and deliver your laundry, and bill it directly to your plan.

How laundry works under the NDIS

Laundry support falls under Household Tasks (registration group 0120) in NDIS plans, within the Assistance with Daily Life budget. Laundry Plus is a registered NDIS provider, and our pickup and delivery is billed as a Linen Service (line item 01_021_0120_1_1), which covers collection, professional laundering, and return of clothing and linen.

If a participant has Linen Service in their plan, they can start straight away. If it’s not specifically allocated, there’s often flexibility within existing Core funding to get started, especially for self-managed and plan-managed participants. Talk to us and we’ll work through the options with you. And if laundry support needs to be added at the next plan review, we’ll help build the case.

We handle all three billing types, self-managed, plan-managed, and NDIA-managed, and we work with each participant to figure out the right frequency and volume based on their funding and needs, so the service is sustainable across the plan period.

We bill at or under the NDIS price limit for Linen Service; your quote confirms the rate.

Why us

Why we do this differently

We’re NDIS carers in our own family. We manage our family member’s plan, sit through the reviews, and deal with the same system you do. It’s why we started offering NDIS laundry in the first place.

So when we take on a new participant, we’re not just setting up a weekly pickup. We look at their funding, work out what makes sense across the full plan period, and build a schedule that doesn’t burn through the budget in three months. If a plan review is coming up and they need more support, we help make the case. If something’s not working, we adjust.

We learn each participant’s routine, their preferences, what matters to them. It’s the same care we’d want for our own family.

How it works

From a conversation to a regular pickup

  1. A conversation first

It starts with a conversation. Usually a coordinator or family member gets in touch, and we talk through the participant’s situation: what they need, how their plan is set up, and what would work for them.

  2. A quote and a service agreement

From there, we put together a quote and a service agreement. If you’d like to start with a trial service to make sure it’s the right fit, that’s fine, and there’s no commitment until everyone’s comfortable. Once we’re up and running, we handle pickup, washing, folding, and delivery on whatever schedule works best.

  3. We adjust as needs change

We stay in touch. If needs change, we adjust. If a plan review is coming up, we’re across it.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my NDIS funding for laundry?
Yes. Laundry pickup and delivery falls under Household Tasks (registration group 0120) in NDIS plans, billed as a Linen Service (line item 01_021_0120_1_1). If it’s in your plan, you can start straight away. If it’s not currently allocated, there may be flexibility within your existing Core funding. Get in touch and we’ll help you work out your options.
What falls under NDIS Household Tasks?
Household Tasks (registration group 0120) is a category within Assistance with Daily Life in NDIS Core Supports. It covers help with everyday domestic tasks a participant can’t manage independently: cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and home maintenance. Laundry specifically can be funded as either in-home support (a support worker helping with washing at home) or as a Linen Service (pickup, professional laundering, and return). Our service is a Linen Service (line item 01_021_0120_1_1).
What does it cost?
We bill at or under the NDIS price limit for Linen Service; your quote confirms the rate.
What billing types do you support?
All three: self-managed, plan-managed, and NDIA-managed. We invoice directly to your plan manager or the NDIA portal, or provide documentation for self-managed participants to claim. You don’t need to change how your plan is managed to use our service.
What’s the difference between in-home laundry support and a linen service?
In-home laundry support means a support worker comes to the participant’s home and does the washing there, using the participant’s own machine. A linen service means laundry is collected from the home, professionally cleaned offsite, and returned. We provide a linen service: we pick up, wash at our facility to each item’s care label, and deliver back folded. Both fall under Household Tasks (0120) but they’re different line items and suit different situations.
Do I need to be home for pickup and delivery?
No. Most participants leave their laundry somewhere accessible: inside a front door, on a porch, with a support worker. We’ll work out what makes sense for each participant’s living situation.
What’s the turnaround time?
48 hours from pickup to delivery. We can often work around specific scheduling needs. If a participant needs laundry back by a certain day, let us know and we’ll do our best to make it work.
Can you handle specific care requirements?
Yes. We read every care label and wash items according to their instructions. If a participant has sensitivities to certain detergents, fragrances, or washing methods, we accommodate that. Just let us know when we set up the service.
How do I get started?
Get in touch by phone or through the form on this page. We’ll have a conversation about the participant’s needs, how their plan is set up, and what would work best. From there we put together a quote and a service agreement, and if you’d like to start with a trial service first, that’s fine too.
