Living in Middle Park
Period homes and some boutique apartment developments close to the beach. Armstrong Street's cafes serve the local beachside community. The Middle Park Hotel is a local institution.
Middle Park is almost entirely houses: Edwardian and Victorian brick terraces on a heritage-protected grid. The inland streets like Richardson, Nimmo, Wright, and Neville are some of the most intact period streetscapes in Melbourne. Property turns over very slowly here. The apartment stock is limited to Beaconsfield Parade, where a handful of buildings face the bay, including a 10-storey tower at 189 Beaconsfield Parade and a few boutique low-rise blocks. The rest of the suburb is freestanding and attached houses on compact blocks, many with compact laundries or machines tucked into converted outbuildings at the rear.
Pickups in Middle Park are simple. The heritage terraces have front doors directly on the footpath or behind low fences: knock and collect. The tower at 189 Beaconsfield Parade has its entry off Nimmo Street, not the parade itself. Include your building details when booking.
